Small Marquee and Garden Party Tent Hire in London
Our garden marquees are heavy-duty gazebos joined into one covered space, sized to your garden and your guest list, then delivered, built on weights and collected by our own crew.
Most people searching for small marquee hire in London have the same problem: a garden that is long and narrow, a patio that cannot take pegs, and a side gate the width of a wheelie bin. Joined gazebos solve all three. You get the look and the cover of a party tent, built in a fraction of the time, with a free quote back the same day.
We deliver garden marquees daily across north, east, south and west London, and regularly into Essex, Kent, Surrey, Hertfordshire and Berkshire from our depot in Ilford.
Why joined gazebos beat a traditional small marquee in a London garden
For most London gardens a set of joined gazebos, sometimes called a mini marquee, is the better choice, because it needs no pegs, no central poles and no day-long build. Here is what that means in practice.
No pegs, no holes
We anchor every leg with cast iron weights, so the same marquee stands on lawn, patio, decking or concrete and there is nothing to dig out afterwards.
Fits the garden you actually have
Units come in 3m widths and join end to end or side by side, so the layout follows your garden rather than the other way round. Bespoke layouts are designed free of charge around your site.
Built in minutes per unit
Our two-person crew puts up each gazebo in under 7 minutes, anchoring and checks included. A garden marquee made of several units is ready long before your first guest arrives.
Grows with the guest list
More guests simply means more units, joined with sealed gutters so the roof stays continuous. The same crew builds it, whatever the size.
Small marquee sizes and how many guests they hold
These are the garden marquee configurations we build most often. Seated figures assume guests at tables; standing figures suit drinks and buffets.
| Configuration | Cover | Guests | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3x6m, one Rhino | 18m² | Up to 40 standing, around 20 seated | Smaller gardens, barbecues, a covered bar |
| 4x4m Buffalo (limited stock) | 16m² | Up to 30 standing, about 16 seated | Square lawns that need headroom |
| 4x6m (limited stock) | 24m² | Up to 50 standing, about 24 seated | Longer lawns that need a clear span |
| 3x9m, three units in a row | 27m² | 60 to 90 guests standing, fewer seated | Long, narrow gardens and buffet lines |
| 6x6m, two Rhinos joined | 36m² | 40 to 60 guests | Birthday parties and family celebrations |
| 4x8m Mammoth | 32m² | 100 standing, 60 seated banquet style | One clear space for bigger parties |
| 9x6m, joined units | 54m² | Up to 200 guests standing | Seated dinners and larger gardens |
We now hire 4x6m gazebos too (limited stock). They have no middle legs, so three of them join into a clear 6x12m structure with nothing in the way of your tables or dance floor. Beyond joined gazebos, we can build marquee-style and wedding-style structures in many sizes. Every configuration, up to a 15x15m pavilion, is on our gazebo sizes page. Not sure which fits? The quote builder recommends a layout from your numbers.
The garden party package
Everything that turns a gazebo into a party tent comes from the same crew on the same visit, so there is one booking and one delivery to think about.
- Festoon string lights and fairy light nets
- 2000W four-way heaters that fix to the frame
- Rola-Trac flooring and a 3x3m dance floor
- Folding chairs, trestle and round tables
- Zip-in sidewalls, solid, mesh or with clear windows
- Cocktail tables and a mobile bar
Sidewalls come as standard on our standard-size gazebos in basic colours; printed walls, special colours and special sizes are an added extra. See the full range on gazebo hire add-ons.
Getting in: side gates, flats, terraces and rooftops
If there is a path to your garden, we can almost always build there. Folded, a 3x6m frame measures 180 x 30 x 30cm, so it travels through side returns, hallways and lifts. Tell us about steps, narrow passages and parking when you book, and if the space is a roof terrace we will survey it first. Our rooftop gazebo hire page explains how we anchor on roofs without fixings.
Weather and overnight hire
A garden marquee from us is made to stay up through a British weekend. Canopies are PU coated and fully waterproof, and gutters seal the joins between units. Hire runs from one hour to a year, so overnight and multi-day parties are routine: zip the sidewalls down at night and everything inside stays dry. Wind limits vary by size and setup, and we monitor wind speeds closely before and during every hire. If high wind is forecast we add extra weights and tie-down kits at no charge, and if conditions become unsafe the crew will advise you.
Free quote back the same day
We price every garden marquee individually, because the right answer depends on the size of the space, the number of units, the extras, how long you need it and where you are. Use the quote builder to choose your gazebos and add-ons, or call or email us with the date, postcode and guest numbers. Either way, a tailored quote comes back the same day, with the Congestion Charge and parking included in the price, and our price match and beat guarantee applies to like-for-like quotes (terms apply).
Real garden jobs

“The entire team was incredibly supportive throughout the planning stages and provided excellent advice on selecting the perfect gazebo for our small back garden. On the day of the event, they arrived early to set up the gazebo and ensure everything was ready before my guests arrived.”
Fabienne Roux, family party, London
“Even booking at just over a week's notice, they were still able to set everything up. The setup was quick and efficient. The driver was friendly and mindful to position the gazebo to look good in the garden.”
Hasse Reinholdt, private event
Garden marquee questions
Do I need planning permission for a garden marquee?
Usually not. Temporary structures generally do not need planning permission, and a garden marquee put up for a party is a temporary structure. Every site is different, though, so the best thing is to contact us and we will check for yours.
Can you put it on concrete, a patio or decking?
Yes. Because we use weights rather than pegs, hard surfaces are no problem, and we can add protection pads under the weights for delicate decking or stone.
How long can a garden marquee stay up?
As long as you need it. Hire runs from one hour up to a year, and rates scale down the longer you keep it.
Will it damage my lawn?
No. Nothing is pegged or staked into the ground, so there are no holes to fill when we leave.
