Booking and prices

Can you hire gazebos in London?

Yes. London Gazebo Hire is a family-run company that hires heavy-duty gazebos across Greater London every day, from a single 3x3m market stall to joined structures covering 225 square metres. We deliver, put the gazebos up, anchor them with cast iron weights and collect them afterwards. We also cover the Home Counties, and travel further for larger jobs. Our depot is at Ilford Sports Club, 3 Cricklefield Place, Ilford IG1 1FY, where dry hire customers collect.

How much does gazebo hire cost?

The cost of gazebo hire depends on five things: the size and number of gazebos, the extras you add, how long you need them, where the event is, and how much notice we have. That is why we quote every job individually rather than publish a price list that would not fit most jobs.

The quickest way to a real number is our quote builder: choose your gazebos and add-ons, send it, and a tailored quote comes back the same day. Delivery, set-up, weights and collection are included in a standard booking, and our price match and beat guarantee applies to like-for-like quotes.

How do I book a gazebo?

You book by sending us your details, through the quote builder, by phone on 020 3488 5015, or by email. Tell us the date, the postcode, roughly how many guests and what surface the gazebo will stand on. We reply with a tailored quote, and once you are happy we email an invoice and delivery instructions, usually the same day. Payment is taken upfront, in full, when the booking is confirmed. The full process is set out step by step on how gazebo hire works.

Is it cheaper to hire or buy a gazebo?

For a one-off event, hiring is usually cheaper once you count everything a bought gazebo needs: weights, sidewalls, transport, a second pair of hands, storage and repairs after a windy day. Hire also gets you a commercial frame and a crew that puts it up. If you trade at a market every week, buying can make sense, but ask us about long-term hire first, because our rates scale down the longer you keep the gazebo.

Do you offer discounts for several gazebos or longer hires?

Yes. We price multi-gazebo orders and extended hire periods on a tiered basis, so the cost per gazebo and per day falls as the order grows. We can supply up to 150 gazebos on a single order, and hire runs from one hour to a full year. Tell us what you need in the quote builder or by phone and we will put together a bespoke quote.

Delivery, set-up and collection

Is delivery included in gazebo hire?

Yes. Every standard booking includes delivery, professional installation, safety anchoring with cast iron weights and collection after your event, with no extras added on the day. The Congestion Charge and parking are included in the quote price too. We deliver and collect 24/7, including bank holidays, across Greater London and regularly into Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Berkshire. Check our service area for details, or send us the postcode if you are further out.

Do you set up the gazebo for me?

Yes, our own trained crew sets up every delivered gazebo. They position it, anchor every leg with weights, fit any sidewalls, gutters, lighting, heaters or flooring you have booked, and run safety checks before they leave. They come back to take it all down. If you would rather do it yourself, dry hire lets you collect from our Ilford depot and put the gazebos up with your own experienced crew.

How long does it take to put up a gazebo?

A gazebo takes our two-person crew under 7 minutes to put up, including anchoring and safety checks. The 4x8m Mammoth is a bigger job: a crew of four to six completes the installation and checks in around two to three hours. Joined structures, lighting and flooring add time, and we plan the arrival so everything is finished before your guests turn up.

Can one person put up a pop-up gazebo?

One person can put up a small pop-up gazebo, but it is awkward and risky in any breeze, which is why our crew always works in pairs. Our 3x3m frame and canopy weigh 25kg before you add the weights, and each leg then sits on a 28kg weight. With delivered hire you never have to try it. More on the frames themselves on our pop-up gazebo hire page.

How quickly can you deliver a gazebo?

We can often deliver the same day or the next day across Greater London, subject to stock, and for urgent bookings we can be with you in as little as four hours. To guarantee a date, we recommend booking five working days ahead. Bespoke and limited stock sizes need 15 working days, and rooftop builds are best booked four to six weeks out to allow time for a site survey.

Deliveries and collections run 24/7, including bank holidays. Our office is open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:30, and Saturday and Sunday, 09:00 to 16:00. Weekend phone availability may vary.

Sizes and capacity

What size gazebo do I need?

As a rule of thumb, a 3x3m gazebo covers up to 20 guests, a 3x6m up to 40, and beyond that we join gazebos into one continuous structure, for example two 3x6m units for 40 to 60 guests. We also hire 4x4m (limited stock) and 4x6m (limited stock) gazebos, and build marquee-style and wedding-style structures in many sizes. Seated guests need more room than standing ones, and tables, a bar or a dance floor take space too. The quote builder recommends an exact set-up from your numbers, and every option is on our gazebo sizes page.

How many people fit under a 3x3m gazebo?

A 3x3m gazebo fits up to 20 people standing or around 10 seated. For comparison, the 3x4.5m Tiger holds up to 30 standing or 15 seated, the 3x6m Rhino up to 40 standing or 20 seated, the 4x4m (limited stock) up to 30 standing or about 16 seated, the 4x6m (limited stock) up to 50 standing or about 24 seated, and the 4x8m Mammoth 100 standing or 60 seated banquet style. See the 3x3m gazebo page for full specifications, including weight and wind rating.

Can gazebos be joined together?

Yes. Our heavy-duty gazebos connect with sealed gutters into one continuous covered space, so the footprint grows with your guest list. Popular layouts include a 3x9m market run, a 6x6m party structure made from two Rhinos, a 9x6m gala space for up to 200 guests standing and a 12x6m exhibition space, right up to a 15x15m pavilion. Our 4x6m gazebos have no middle legs, so three of them join into a clear 6x12m structure. For garden parties, see small marquee and garden party tent hire.

Weather, wind and safety

How much wind can a gazebo take?

There is no single number, because wind limits vary by size and setup, and we monitor wind speeds closely before and during every hire. What keeps a gazebo standing is correct anchoring, which is why we always use cast iron weights and bring extra weights and tie-down kits free of charge when high wind is forecast. If conditions become unsafe, the crew will advise you, and our terms allow us to take equipment down before or during an event in adverse weather. Our frames are heavy-duty 45mm to 55mm commercial frames in anodised aluminium, and every one is CE certified.

Can you leave a gazebo up overnight?

Yes. Many of our hires run for several days, and hire can last anything from one hour to a year. Overnight, zip the sidewalls down to keep rain and wind out, move anything valuable or electrical inside, and leave the weights exactly where the crew placed them. If anything looks wrong in the morning, call us on 020 3488 5015 rather than adjusting the frame yourself.

Do gazebos need to be anchored?

Yes, every gazebo needs anchoring, whatever the forecast says. An unanchored pop-up can be lifted by a single sudden gust. We anchor every leg with cast iron weights, never pegs, which is safer and works on any surface. On a 3x3m that means a 28kg weight on each leg, and heavier frames get more. Our team includes a crew member focused on wind management and weighting.

Are your gazebos waterproof?

Yes. Every canopy is PU coated polyester, fully waterproof, and blocks 99% of UV, so it works as well in a summer heatwave as in a downpour. Gutters seal the joins between connected gazebos so water runs off rather than through, and zip-in sidewalls close the sides. Sidewalls come as standard on our standard-size gazebos in basic colours; printed walls, special colours and special sizes are an added extra. The Mammoth adds taped seams and roof venting to control run-off.

Permits, surfaces and venues

Do I need a permit for a gazebo?

It depends on where the gazebo is going, so talk to us about permits when you ask for a quote. Tell us whether it is a private garden, a park, a street, a market or a venue, and we will talk it through with you. What we can always give you is the paperwork: our public liability insurance certificate and our risk assessment and method statement (RAMS), which most councils and venues ask for.

Does a garden gazebo need planning permission?

Usually not. Temporary structures generally do not need planning permission, and a gazebo put up in a garden for a party or event is a temporary structure. Every site is different, though, so the best thing is to contact us before you book with your address and how long you need the gazebo, and we will check for your site.

Can you put a gazebo on a patio, concrete or decking?

Yes. Because we anchor with weights rather than pegs, our gazebos stand on patios, concrete, tarmac, decking, gravel and artificial turf as well as grass. Protection pads can go under the weights to look after delicate stone or timber. The Rhino frame is built to stand firm on uneven ground, and the crew checks the surface before they build.

Can you put a gazebo on a roof terrace?

Yes, rooftop gazebos are a specialism of ours. We survey the roof first, checking access, the surface and wind exposure, then anchor with non-invasive ballast so nothing is fixed into the roof. We build on decking, gravel, artificial turf and sedum roofs. Allow four to six weeks for a rooftop booking where you can. Read more on rooftop gazebo hire.

Insurance, payment and cancellations

Is gazebo hire insured?

Yes. We are fully insured for public liability and damage cover, and you can download our public liability insurance certificate to send to your venue. The damage cover included with your hire covers scratches to the frame, a bent leg, minor canopy issues, general wear and tear, and minor smells such as cooking or barbecue smoke. It does not cover serious structural damage, such as fire, more than one leg substantially bent, or a snapped frame. While the gazebo is on your site it is your responsibility, so tell us straight away if anything is damaged.

When do I pay?

Payment is taken upfront, in full, when your booking is confirmed. We send the invoice by email as soon as you confirm, together with delivery instructions. Full payment terms are in your booking confirmation and our terms and conditions, which apply to every booking and also set out what you are responsible for while the gazebo is on your site.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If you need to cancel, tell us as early as you can. The quickest way is to call 020 3488 5015; you can also email fastreply@londongazebohire.co.uk. The charge depends on how much notice you give: with more than 30 days' notice it is 20% of the total hire charge, which is non-refundable; with 7 to 30 days it is 50%; with less than 7 days it is 100%. The full terms are in your booking confirmation and our terms and conditions.
